I'm behind - in everything

Right after I started this. My grandmother that had turned 90 on the day of my 1st blog passed away. A true answer to prayer, she was not doing well. I was her only grandchild & we spent a good bit of time together. When we lived apart, she would come every summer to where ever we lived & get me, take me back to Georgia and keep me for 6 or 7 weeks every summer. I didn't realize until I was thinking back on her & my life how much that meant to me. That I was loved, wanted, and special to her.

During all of the funeral events, my mom ended up with compression fractures & is in the hospital trying to get treatment for her back. So we have been coming & going a lot. I've been too tired to think about much. Lulu and I are staying with her today, while my dad gets some much needed work done ( he has Gman). I brought school with us, we've gotten lots of questions and interest from the nurses & dr's.

Trying to keep our home school efforts up has been hard at times. We took most of the week of the 22nd off. Mostly we read, tried to take advantage of teachable moments, and anything that looked educational on TV. Thank you Magic School Bus on discovery kids.

Needless to say the last 2 weeks have been busy, emotional & tiring. I had wanted to do more with my blog, but hopefully I will get up to speed soon. Hang in there with me. It's already been interesting maybe now it can get enjoyable.

I want to do a week in the life - another blog that I keep up with is doing one this week. I hope to try one in the next few weeks, it looks fun. The idea of really seeing what our daily lives are like the little moments. So I would try to capture everything, no staging. Just real life the way we live it. The author of the blog that started this, comments that it really opens your eyes to what's important to you.

What a great heading...There is beauty in every day, even if we don't think so :)
